Abu `Abdillah (prayers be upon him) from his ancestors (the Imams (prayers be upon all of them) has said the following: A man once came to the Noble Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah what is knowledge?’ The Noble Prophet replied, “It is silence.” The man then asked, “Then what?” The Noble Prophet said, “It is listening.” The man asked, then what?” The Noble Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) said, “Then it is memorizing.” The man asked, “Then what?” The Noble Prophet said, “Then it is to practice according to what you have learnt.” The man then asked, “Then what O’ Messenger of Allah?” The Noble Prophet said, “Then it is to propagate what one has learned.”
A BRIEF HISTORY OF AL-FATH AL-MUBIN PUBLICATIONS
Al-Fath Al-Mubin Publications, named after the introductory verse of Surah 48 of the Noble Qur’an, Al-Fath, was formed in late 1999 to facilitate the publication in print and digital format of originally translated and written Islamic literature. Shortly thereafter, we launched the Islamic Publishing House (www.iph.ca) to oversee the commercial publication and distribution of works produced by Al-Fath Al-Mubin and publishers around the world, while maintaining the Al-Fath Al-Mubin Publications site for the free distribution of our original writings and translation work.
EXPANSION OF OUR EFFORTS IN THE FIELD OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION AND TEACHING
Having published numerous articles in English, and keeping the saying of the 6th Imam quoted above in mind, we expanded our efforts, by God’s grace by translating and publishing our first work, Secrets of the Hajj written by the great scholar of Islamic ethics and spirituality, Shaykh Husayn Mazaheri. This book has been widely acclaimed globally – filling a gap in the English language on material that expounds on the mystical and unknown secrets of this spiritual journey and following in the footsteps of Prophet Abraham and his successor, Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, and his twelve successors – the Imams.
